Recovery That Feels Human

At Zen Mountain House, we believe recovery should feel like coming home – to yourself, your body, your story, and your life.

Too many women in recovery are met with judgment, isolation, or rigid rules that don’t reflect the realities of trauma and healing. We created Zen Mountain House to be the opposite of that: a safe, supportive sober living environment in Denver where women are seen, supported, and treated like whole people, not just “addicts.”

Our homes are built around trauma-informed care, real community, and compassionate accountability. We know that true healing doesn’t happen through pressure. It happens through connection.

Whether you’re transitioning from treatment, starting over after a relapse, or rebuilding after deep loss, Zen Mountain is here to offer structure, support, and a place to belong.

We don’t just help women stay sober. We help them build a life they want to stay sober for.

“The mountains became my metaphor for recovery- steady, quiet, and unshakable.”

About Our Founder

Zen Mountain House was founded by Erin Rasmussen, a woman in long-term recovery who believes that healing should feel deeply human.

Raised in the mountains of Park City, Utah, Erin found peace in wide views and quiet places. Nature became a personal symbol of resilience and eventually, the inspiration behind the name Zen Mountain.

After years of struggling with addiction, Erin entered recovery and later experienced the devastating loss of a family member to suicide. That moment broke everything open and became the turning point that defined her purpose.

With over a decade of sobriety and experience in the recovery field since 2018, Erin brings both lived experience and professional insight to her work. She also leads Nexus Recovery Support, a companion program offering trauma-informed coaching and individualized recovery support.

Zen Mountain House reflects the heart of her mission: to create sober living homes where women feel safe, supported, and empowered to rebuild their lives.
